Legal closing times
Official closing is 2 AM, but enforcement varies. RCA and some venues stay open later. Raids happen occasionally—just leave calmly if asked.
Getting home
Use Grab or Bolt apps—safer and fairer than street taxis at night. BTS/MRT stops at midnight. Never drink and drive—Thailand has strict DUI laws and checkpoints.
Dress codes
Rooftop bars and upscale clubs enforce dress codes. No shorts, sandals, or tank tops for men. When in doubt, go smart casual.
ID requirements
Carry your passport or a photocopy. Clubs may check ID at the door. Legal drinking age is 20.
Drug warning
Thailand has extremely strict drug laws. Penalties are severe, including long prison sentences. Don't accept anything from strangers.
