BTS Phrom Phong Station

สถานีพร้อมพงษ์

The practical guide to station E5: which exit to take, how to get here from the airports, and everything within walking distance — written by people who use this station every day.

Quick answer

Phrom Phong (E5) sits between Asok (E4) and Thong Lo (E6) on the BTS Sukhumvit Line. EmQuartier and Emporium connect directly to the station by skybridge; Benjasiri Park and EmSphere are two minutes from the south-side exits. From Suvarnabhumi Airport, allow ~40 minutes by taxi or about an hour via Airport Rail Link + BTS through Phaya Thai.

Which exit do I take?

Six exits, two sides of Sukhumvit Road. The malls have direct elevated connections, so for EmQuartier and Emporium you never need to cross the street. (Exit layouts can shift during construction — the in-station signs are always current.)

Getting to Phrom Phong

From Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)

Taxi: roughly 35–45 minutes outside rush hour, metered fare plus tolls. Rail: Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai, then BTS Sukhumvit Line eastbound eight stops to Phrom Phong — about an hour door to door and immune to traffic.

From Don Mueang Airport (DMK)

A taxi is usually the practical choice (time varies a lot with traffic). By rail, take the SRT Dark Red Line to Bang Sue/Krung Thep Aphiwat, connect via MRT to Sukhumvit, then one BTS stop from Asok.

From Siam / central Bangkok

Direct on the Sukhumvit Line: Siam to Phrom Phong is five stops, around ten minutes. No transfers needed from National Stadium side — change at Siam.

MRT connection

Phrom Phong has no MRT station. Ride one stop to Asok (E4) and follow the walkway to MRT Sukhumvit on the Blue Line — the easiest route to Chatuchak, Chinatown, and the old town.

Hours, tickets, and street level

Trains run from early morning (around 5:30) to roughly midnight, every few minutes at peak and slightly less often late evening. For exact first/last trains on your travel day, the boards in the station and the official BTS site are the reliable sources.

Pay with single-journey tickets from the machines, a stored-value Rabbit card (best if you're staying more than a few days), or contactless bank cards at the gates. At street level you'll find motorbike-taxi ranks at the mouth of every major soi — the standard way to cover the last kilometre down long sois like 24, 26, 31 and 39 — and metered taxis along Sukhumvit in both directions.

Staying near the station?

We compare 13 hotels and serviced apartments by walking time from E5 — and 50 condos if you're staying longer.
